New work on ideological bias in AI models revives the argument that leading systems encode their builders' values.

The question of ideological bias in AI is back in circulation, with @OANN pointing to new research on what it framed as "the woke A.I. problem" — bias baked into leading models. The underlying claim is one that recurs across the political spectrum: that models reflect the values, assumptions, and choices of the people and data used to build them.
