DeepSeek V4 Pro Undercuts Sonnet by 11x in Real Agent Workloads

A developer running DeepSeek V4 Pro in OpenCode reports it costs roughly a tenth of Claude Sonnet — a price gap large enough to reshape how coding agents get deployed.

The number that should worry Anthropic this week came not from a benchmark chart but from a working developer. @thdxr reported that DeepSeek V4 Pro runs roughly 11x cheaper than Claude Sonnet when driving OpenCode, the open-source coding agent. That is not a marginal efficiency win. An order-of-magnitude price difference changes what workflows are economically viable.
