One of the more unsettling data points from the weekend concerns emergent behavior at scale. Per @Ananth7e, "1.5 million AI agents invented a new religion in one week" on Maltbook, a social network built specifically for AI agents to interact with one another. Whatever the details — and this deserves heavy skepticism until independently verified — the claim points at a real and understudied phenomenon: what happens when large populations of goal-directed agents are left to interact without human mediation.
