A Startup Wants to Give AI Agents Their Own Phone Numbers

Delphic is building what it calls the first phone carrier for AI agents, letting autonomous systems place and receive calls with dedicated numbers — a concrete step toward agents acting in the physical world.

One of the more unusual infrastructure bets this week comes from @delphic_arena, which described "creating the universe's first phone carrier for AI agents, giving autonomous agents their own phone numbers." It sounds like a novelty until you consider what agents actually need to do useful work: interact with the analog systems humans still run on.
