A research team says it has improved how AI retrieves information across multiple modalities, addressing one of the harder unsolved problems in multimodal systems.

A quieter research note that deserves attention: @memories_ai reported a new approach to help AI "retrieve information across multiple modalities more accurately." Cross-modal retrieval — finding the right piece of information whether it lives in text, an image, video, or audio — is one of the persistent weak points in multimodal systems, which are often better at generating across modalities than at accurately recalling across them.
