"AI Slop SQL" Becomes a Job Requirement, Not a Joke

A hiring post casually lists verifying Claude-generated SQL as a core data science responsibility — a sign of how thoroughly AI verification has been absorbed into everyday workflows.

The most honest description of a modern data role this week came wrapped in a joke. @fanfavorite_bta posted a job listing in which the data scientist's responsibilities include verifying the "AI slop sql queries" the hiring manager asks Claude to generate. The post drew over 400 likes, largely because it described something many practitioners recognize but rarely say out loud: a meaningful share of the job is now checking the machine's work.
