Claude Opus 4.7 and its Thinking variant are pulling away from the field in at least one domain no one expected to matter this much: slide generation. According to results from Design Arena, as shared by @Designarena, the two Claude models hold an "80+ Elo point gap" over competitors in the Slides category. In competitive benchmarking, an 80-point Elo gap is enormous — roughly the difference between a strong amateur and a professional in chess terms.
