New Design Arena benchmarks show Claude Opus 4.7 dominating the presentation design category by a margin wide enough to suggest Anthropic has found a durable edge in structured creative tasks.

Claude Opus 4.7 and its Thinking variant are pulling away from the field in at least one domain no one expected to matter this much: slide generation. According to results from Design Arena, as shared by @Designarena, the two Claude models hold an "80+ Elo point gap" over competitors in the Slides category. In competitive benchmarking, an 80-point Elo gap is enormous — roughly the difference between a strong amateur and a professional in chess terms.
