Apple Will Let iOS 27 Users Swap Out AI Models Across Siri and Apple Intelligence Features

Mark Gurman reports Apple is testing Gemini and Claude as user-selectable alternatives across the full Apple Intelligence stack — a fundamental shift in how Apple thinks about AI on-device.

Apple's iOS 27 will allow users to choose from outside AI services across core Apple Intelligence features, including Siri and Image Playground, according to @markgurman. The company is currently testing integrations with Google's Gemini and Anthropic's Claude, expanding well beyond the current ChatGPT-only partnership.
