OpenAI and Microsoft Restructure Their Partnership: Multi-Cloud, Non-Exclusive IP

OpenAI announced the next phase of its Microsoft partnership, granting Microsoft a non-exclusive license to OpenAI IP while opening the door to multi-cloud deployment.

OpenAI announced a restructured partnership with Microsoft that loosens the exclusivity that has defined their relationship since 2019, as @OpenAINewsroom shared. Under the new terms, Microsoft receives a non-exclusive license to OpenAI's intellectual property and retains its role as primary cloud provider, but OpenAI is now free to deploy on other cloud platforms.
