OpenAI and Microsoft on Monday unveiled a fundamentally restructured partnership agreement. The new terms allow OpenAI to serve customers on any cloud provider, cap the revenue share it pays Microsoft, and — most consequentially — remove the so-called AGI clause that had been a structural protection of OpenAI's original charitable mission. CNBC reported that the deal ends Azure's exclusive hosting arrangement, a pillar of the relationship since Microsoft's initial billion-dollar investment.
