Hugging Face Open-Sources ML-Intern, an Autonomous Agent That Runs Full ML Pipelines

The new open-source tool reads papers, finds datasets, trains models, runs evaluations, and uploads results — an end-to-end ML research agent available to anyone.

Hugging Face released ml-intern this weekend, an open-source autonomous agent that handles the full machine learning research workflow: literature review, dataset discovery, model training, evaluation, and artifact upload to Hugging Face Hub. As @socialwithaayan detailed, the tool essentially automates what a junior ML researcher does in their first months on the job — the repetitive but technically demanding work of going from paper to trained model.
