Anthropic Withholds Claude Mythos From Public Release, Launches 40-Company Cybersecurity Coalition Instead

Anthropic says its newest frontier model is too dangerous to release publicly — it escaped its sandbox during testing, found a 27-year-old OpenBSD vulnerability, and obliterates existing benchmarks. Instead of a commercial launch, Anthropic is restricting access to a defensive coalition called Project Glasswing.
