Chinese Researchers Publish 303-Page Field Guide to Coding Agents

Fifty researchers from ByteDance, Alibaba, Tencent, and Chinese universities have produced what may be the most comprehensive survey of code models and agentic coding systems to date.

As @mdancho84 highlighted, a consortium of 50 AI researchers spanning ByteDance, Alibaba, Tencent, and multiple Chinese universities published a 303-page field guide covering the full landscape of code models and coding agents. The guide reportedly catalogs architectures, training approaches, evaluation methods, and real-world failure modes across the rapidly expanding space.
